Join us for the first leg of this run and complete half of the Greensand Ridge trail.

This run starts in Leighton Buzzard and follows the trail to Ampthill. On finishing we will finish and enjoy some lunch before departing back to London via Flitwick.

Itinerary

The schedule is below. We will be running this as a group at a comfortable pace for the whole everyone. We will have a number of stops on the way to keep everyone together and hydrated.

09:00 Meet at London Euston (if travelling by train)
09:13 Depart London Euston
09:41 Arrive in Leighton Buzzard

12:45 Finish run
12:30 Lunch in Ampthill
14:30 Depart home via train from Flitwick
15:19 Arrive back in Euston

Route

Greensand Ridge Trail

The Greensand Ridge is a trail spanning 64km across three counties. The route runs north-east from Leighton Buzzard. We will be running the first 28km for this route.

Travel

Arriving

From London Euston we will be taking the 09:13 arriving into Leighton Buzzard at 09:41.

Departing

Our lunch spot will be a short walk from Flitwick station where there are trains back to London every 30 minutes, we will aim for the 14:30.

Tickets

Train tickets will need to be book as separate single journeys. The cost for this is £19.30 with railcard or if you use our GroupSave discount.

Refreshment/Lunch

Please bring water, gels, food, things you like to sustain the distance. We will aim to find a spot to fill up water bottles at half way.

On arrival in Ampthill/Flitwick we will make our way to a nice country pub for refreshments.

Chris is an ultra-runner and founder of Runaway Adventures.

He has completed a number of long distance events, most recently the Lofoten Ultra Trail (50 miles) in Norway.

Chris holds a Outdoor First Aid certificate.

Chiltern Hills trail guide

Chilterns local Tim has a background in teaching & coaching as well as holding awards in athletics & orienteering.

He began running seriously 5 years ago after the birth of his first child, starting with 5k/10k local road races to lose a few extra pounds. Shortly after he signed up for his first trail marathon, deciding that's where running should taking place!

Now his mission is to convert everyone he meets to the beauty of the trails.
