Having been to all the tourist spots in Surrey recently, we've decided to go a little more unknown this time. Heading to the village of Kingswood on the North Downs.

This is a 10 mile undulating circular route that takes us through some excellent scenery including the brilliant Banstead Wood.

Kingswood is accessible by train from London Victoria via East Croydon.

You will receive an email prior to the run confirming all the details and specific meeting points.


The routes starts and finishes in the village of Kingswood, once a royal manor used by King Henry XIII for a spot of hunting.

The highlight of the route is the ancient woodland of Banstead Wood, along with an attractive selection of narrow trails winding through the Long Meadow Plantation of Shabden Park.

You can travel with the Runaway Adventures team from Victoria station boarding the 09:33 train to to East Croydon (16 mins), then changing to a direct train to Kingswood (32 mins).

Departures back into London depart at 27 and 57 minutes past the hour. We will aim for the 13:57 or 14:27.

If you're driving you can park at the Kingswood Arms pub which is right by the station and will be our port of call after the run.


The run will finish at the Kingswood Arms pub right next to the station for some refreshments and food.

Chris is an ultra-runner and founder of Runaway Adventures.

He has completed a number of long distance events, most recently the Lofoten Ultra Trail (50 miles) in Norway.

Chris is certified as a Fell/Trail Leader in Running Fitness and is Outdoor First Aid trained.
