A trained first aider will be present on all guided runs.
Our aim is to treat minor injuries on route so that you can keep running. However, if your injury prevents you from continuing we will help organise transport back to base.
In the event of a series injury we may cancel the run at any point to deal with and provide appropriate care to the injured. In this instance we will not provide a refund but you will be invited to attend an future event free of charge.
In the event of extreme weather conditions we may make the decision to change or cancel part or all of the adventure. We will only do if it is deemed dangerous to be running outside.
If the run is cancelled due to extreme weather conditions prior to the event Runaway Adventures Limited will provide you with either a full refund or invited to attend an future event free of charge
1. Lead runner
For each guided run there will be at least two Runaway Adventures staff, a lead runner and support runner.
The lead runner will be in charge of navigation and pace. You are required to follow his/her instructions at all times.
The support runner will run towards the back of the group and his/her main concern is your safety and well being.
2. Running ability
Before embarking on a guided run, please check that you are able to run at the advertised pace.
If you are unable to keep up with the main pack then either the support runner will run with you at a slower pace, or (if you prefer) you can stop and return to base.
For those worried about the group being too fast/slow, we would be happy to talk to you and help select an appropriate trip.
For private groups, we will consult you about your desired running pace before the trip.
3. Risks of running
There are many risks associated with running, especially on uneven terrain.
It is important that you're aware of the potential injury risks and that there is always the possibility you may not be able to complete the route.
